Safepet was developed as a speculative tool for pet wellbeing and emergency management.
Opportunity
Provide emergency safety measures for the 70,000 pets which go missing in the UK every year.
OUTCOME
A speculative mobile application which allows for streamlined pet care and microchip tracking. Safepet provides a warning if the animal is outside of a user-designated zone, and allows users to manage pet care scheduling.
Key Features
The Safepet platform is based on the speculative development of a pet identification microchip with more robust GPS tracking capabilities than most tracking products currently use, but could be implemented with current technology. With this in mind, the Safepet application would provide three key services:
Pet Tracking: If a pet escapes a give area, designated by the user, a notification will be sent to the user along with directions and emergency contacts.
Vet Registration: Should a lost or injured pet be admitted to a veterinarian Safepet will notify the user and provide directions as well as contact information.
Pet & Caregiver Management: Safepet allows users to register pets and people for quick calendar and emergency contact syncing. Many people who use popular dog-walking service applications also move conversations off-app to avoid fees, Safepet allows users to keep dog walking contacts and scheduling in one place, regardless of introduction.
